  BALLOONING

Hot air ballooning is becoming a great adventure option in India. About 50,000 cubic feet of hot air fills a giant nylon balloon to which your basket is attached. There are no seats in the basket - therefore, standing for the duration of the flight, about on hour is unavoidable. There’s no age barrier to enjoy hot-air ballooning, but you have to be fit, as you may have to walk through paddocks after landing. Clothing should be exactly the way you wear during a hiking trip that includes sturdy shoes or boots plus sunglasses, gloves and a cap.

The best time to indulge in ballooning is after sunrise when the winds are their calmest. Winter months provide the most reliable conditions, but during summer months its better take of early in the morning. The duration of ballooning flight can change at the pilot's discretion, taking into account the winds, temperature and weight carried on the day. When alone a balloon can rise up to 800 feet and above, while those in groups may be restricted to heights between 200 and 500 feet.

  Major Ballooning Sites In India
India also has its own hot-air balloons and the Ballooning Club of India organizes international balloon festivals and demonstration flights annually. There are Ballooning clubs in Guwahati, Dehradun, Bangalore and Jaipur.

  GLIDING

It is a sport that will always offer you to indulge in the breathtaking challenges of the vast sky. Just have confidence, you can control it of course, and some times there is a feeling of helplessness during your flight that makes gliding sports much of an excitement.

India offers some of the most rigorous gliding sports in the country---it successfully deals in Hang Gliding, Hand Gliding and Para-Gliding. So, go seize a set of wings, take a deep breath and let it fly!

  Hang Gliding

In hang gliding one can look beyond the spines of receding mountain heights, past rivers that gorge their way through dense forests and on to the plains. On an exceptionally lucky day, one may even be able to trace the route of the river till it vanishes into a slight haze.

The sport of hang gliding through the air involves hanging suspended by a harness from a large type of kite called a hang glider.

  Hang Gliding Places in India:
Billing, Dharamkot, Pune, Delhi, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Shimla, Devlali, Bangalore, Ooty

  Hand Gliding

A hand-glider has a heavy mechanism, almost 55-kg in weight. The glider is quite cumbersome and much-complicated object, taking around more then 2 hours to open and almost the same time to fold back. Besides all these, this sport is still quite in demand as the satisfaction and ecstasy of floating on air in the vast blue sky, like a bird is unique and tremendous.

  Para Gliding

Paragliding is a blend of skydiving and hang gliding and also the best way to conquer your fear of heights.

A paraglider is a non-motorized, foot-launched inflatable wing, which is easy to transport, launch, and land. It is constructed of rip-stop nylon or high stress polyester fabric. The pilot is clipped into a harness and is in a comfortable sitting position. The harness and the Paraglider attached by sturdy kevlar lines. The Para gliders can fly in the air for hours with the help of the glider and climb to altitudes, more than 10,000 feet high or opt for cross-country flying adventure covering vast distances.

  Paragliding Places in India:

Billing, Kullu, Solang, Lahaul & Spiti, Naukutchiyatal, Dayara Bugyal, Dhanolti Ridge,Bedni Bugyal, Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Bikaner, Matheran.

  Para Sailing

Parasailing is another form of aero sport, which is acquiring great popularity among the adventure sport lovers in India. In this sport you are harnessed into a parachute, which takes you into the air to enjoy the beauties of coastline beaches and cliffs from above.

It's a pleasant activity for those who do not dare to ski or glide. The aero-adventure sport of paragliding also requires some basic training. A great fun, this sport takes you to the glorious heights with the help of parachutes.

The thrill of this paragliding can be enjoyed on the slopes of the Solang valley near Manali, Nilgiri hills in the South India, the Eastern Himalayas in the Darjeeling/Gangtok area, Auli in Uttranchal, and Sansar in Jammu & Kashmir.

CHECK YOUR CAR BATTERIES

The battery stores energy in chemical form that is released on demand as electricity. The energy is used by the vehicle's ignition system to crank the engine, as well as power the lights or other accessories. If your alternator fails, your vehicle can run on the battery alone, at least for a short period of time. Normally, however, as long as your engine is running, the alternator keeps the battery recharged. If you operate any electrical items with the engine off, such as power windows, the audio system or headlights, the battery will slowly drain.

Tips to Battery Care

  • Incase of unsealed batteries make sure the water level is adequate.  If the battery water level is allowed to
get too low, the heat generated within the battery will destroy the battery cells.

  • Clean the deposits encrusted on the battery terminals with a wire brush dipped in baking soda and water.
These deposits can block the flow of electricity

  • Make sure the brackets that hold your battery in place are tight. Loose brackets will cause the battery to
vibrate when the car is running and this constant vibration will shorten the life of the battery.

  • Check the condition of the battery tray for corrosion. If there's minor corrosion, brush it off and apply an
acid-resistant paint to the tray. If the tray has been weakened by corrosion, replace it.

DIABETES REMEDIES

  • A tablespoon of amla juice mixed with a cup of fresh bitter gourd (karela) juice and taken daily for 2 months will reduce blood sugar.
  • Take dry tender leaves of the mango tree in the shade. Powder and preserve them. Half a teaspoon of this powder twice a day in the morning and evening proves beneficial.
  • 3-4 teaspoons juice of bitter gourd (karela), taken every morning on an empty stomach gives good results.
  • Coarsely powder fenugreek seeds (methi dana) and have 1-2 teaspoons in the morning everyday. (Vary dosage according to individual tolerance level)
  • Eating 10 fresh fully-grown curry leaves (kari patta) every morning for 3 months is said to prevent diabetes due to heredity factors.
  • Soak 2 teaspoons fenugreek seeds (methi dana) in 1-cup water at night. Drink this water first thing in the morning and preferably eat the seeds too.
  • Chew 8-10 basil (tulsi) leaves in the morning.

MAK ANTI-AGEING MAGIC

“Make a wish & it’ll come true!” If this was the offer extended to the vehicle owners of today by Aladdin’s genie, the first wish they would make would be a long, trouble-free life for their vehicle engines!  As a step towards satisfying the customer, BPCL has chosen to create distinctiveness in products offering by adopting a platform of MAK Anti-Ageing Magic in our premium product segments.

Conventionally, engine oils are expected to prevent wear of the engine parts, reduce friction by preventing metal-to-metal contact, protect against rust and corrosion, keep engine parts clean, minimize combustion chamber deposits, cool engine parts, seal against combustion pressures etc. The technologically much superior designed modern vehicles, however have high power outputs, operate at high temperatures, have smaller oil sumps, longer drain intervals and practically no “topups”. These aspects put a tremendous strain on engine oils and only a well formulated engine oil tested in the field can withstand such severe operating conditions.

MAK Anti-Ageing Magic… a breakthrough and unique lubricants proposition presented by BPC keeps the engine young forever!  A great amount of effort, with trials and re-trials by our R&D team, market intelligence and consumer feedback have gone into the evolution of this unmatched proposition, ensuring long trouble free life for vehicle engines. It’s only MAK that has taken a lead and discovered the anti-ageing qualities of lubricants to augment the engine life of our consumers’ vehicles.

MAK Anti-Ageing Magic works in three ways – it cleanses, cools and it retards engine wear and tear, keeping the engine robust and young, fortifying it to stand the tests of all the tangible benefits envisaged!

MAK ANTI AGEING MAGIC, KEEPS YOUR ENGINE YOUNG. FOREVER.

The creative route chosen by BPCL to communicate the product is centered on the three basic elements of a toolbox. The pliers, spanner & screwdriver, named Pappu Plier, Spanner Singh and Smitha Screwdriver lead a life of drudgery on account of the toil and hard work and no time to pursue their hobbies. The arrival of MAK - Anti-Ageing Lubricants’ transforms that into an easy and happy one. Finally they are seen rejoicing due to their improved life.

No wonder then that Aladdin’s genie gets a chance to sing

MAK ANTI-AGEING MAGIC JAADU! JAADU!!!

And BPCL tell’s its customers

‘MAK makes it possible to keep the engine forever young’
