ENVIRONMENTALLY COMPLIANT PRODUCTS
Strategically located in the center of the country, the refinery caters to the fuel demands of Central and Northern India. Refinery has consistently delivered environmentally compliant products since its inception, qualities of some of our products are better than the upcoming BS VI specifications envisaged through Auto Fuel Policy. We are a future ready refinery and the debottlenecking project will further strengthen our configuration to deliver premium quality fuel in line with stringent norms of our country. It’s a matter of pride for us that we have commenced production of BS VI standards diesel and petrol.
The Company produces premium quality Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) used in cooking, refrigeration, metal cutting and fabrication. We provide prompt service through our fully automated loading gantry for timely dispatch of LPG in lorries heading to bottling plants. LPG is a clean gas and is several times more efficient than conventional stoves. The Company supports initiatives of the Government towards proliferation of LPG usage.
Motor Spirit is a mixture of lighter hydrocarbons used as fuel in spark ignition engines. The refinery boasts of modern Reformer and Penex units, where constituents of Petrol are manufactured. With negligible olefin & sulphur content, petrol from refinery is of superior quality surpassing all performance parameters.
Serving the ground transportation needs, the refinery’s state-of-the-art, India’s first integrated Hydro-cracker | Hydro-treater unit produces superior quality diesel with high cetane number. HSD is used in compression ignition engines of automobiles, railways, power generation and pump drives.
SKO is a middle petroleum crude distillate. Its utility as a cooking and lighting fuel makes it the chief fuel used in many rural households in India. It is also used in certain industries viz. Insecticides, fungicides, pesticides etc. Through its various treatment units / stages, the company ensures that high quality, conforming to IS-1459 standards, SKO with high smoke point and lesser sulphur content & aromatics is delivered. All these parameters are strictly adhered to render the fuel fit for use in households etc.
Company has marked its presence in the skies by consistently supplying Jet Fuel or ATF of specified standards both to defence and commercial undertakings. ATF is a specially treated mixture of kerosene based middle distillates. Equipped with latest instruments, Company’s state of art laboratory closely monitors quality of the fuel, which is certified by regulatory bodies like CEMILAC, DGAQA and DGCA.
Naphtha is aromatic low density fuel consumed internally in refinery for production of Petrol and Hydrogen. Used as a feed, unutilized production is sold to petrochemical and other industries like fertilizers etc., some Naphtha from refinery is also exported. Naphtha generated in the refinery is low in sulphur content is sold on as is basis.
Sulphur, present in crude, is treated as a contaminant and is undesirable in fuel products. The refinery has a dedicated Sulphur Recovery Unit, wherein sulphur is extracted in elemental form. Widely used in manufacture of sulphuric acid, fertilizers and explosives, the refinery’s facilities can handle sulphur dispatch in solid and liquid form.
Pet-coke is a solid heavy product, last in the line of refining. To increase middle distillate yields, the refinery has a Delayed Coker Unit, wherein middle distillates are extracted to maximum possible and pet-coke is formed of the remaining crude oil. Used as source of energy in many industries, primarily cement and power, pet-coke produced in refinery is of fuel grade.
Fly Ash is produced as residue left after combustion of petcoke / coal in the refinery’s captive power plant. This source material having cementitious properties is used in manufacture of cement and bricks. The company provides Fly ash to nearby brick factories and in the vicinity. Usage of fly ash in making bricks, compared to traditional clay bricks manufacture, reduces pollution and helps in preserving top soil cover.
