AMBIENT AIR QUALITY REPORT

Kochi Refinery has five AAQMS along the boundaries of the refinery to monitor the level of contaminants in atmosphere. The data from the five AAQMS are uploaded to CPCB continuously through dedicated servers and adequate action is taken to ensure that the public is not affected due the activities of the refinery.

Besides this, the BPCL Mumbai Refinery carries out manual sampling of ambient air periodicallyto check air quality in reference to online meters. The emissions from each stack are monitored on a continuous basis by our engineers and the online meters are cross checked for its accuracy every month by manual sampling. The three Effluent treatment plants treat the liquid effluents generated from the plants and ensure that the discharge from the refinery meets the stipulated standards.

It is the first Indian work site to achieve a Level 8 rating on the International Safety Rating System (ISRS).
