High Speed Diesel is a petroleum distillate fuel, suitable for burning in Diesel or Compression Ignition (CI) engines.
In compliance with Auto fuel policy, currently HSD (BS-VI) is marketed in India. HSD (BS VI) is a Class B product, under PESO Classification.
Application :
HSD is used as automotive fuel in Compression Ignition Engines in vehicles (cars, buses, off-highway equipment etc.).
As fuel in special furnaces and gas turbines.

Product class: B - class
Motor Gasoline, commonly known as Petrol or Motor Spirit. Motor Gasoline that is being currently marketed in India as per BS-VI emission standards meeting Bureau of Indian Standards Specification, IS: 2796-2017.
The nomenclature as per the Bureau of Indian Standards, is Motor Gasoline, whereas, the nomenclature used in Auto Fuel Policy and Control Orders, is Motor Spirit. These different nomenclatures are used for the same product and are used interchangeably. Motor Spirit is of British origin while Gasoline is of American origin.
Motor Gasoline is meant to be used as a fuel for spark ignition internal combustion engines such as Passenger Cars, 2 Wheelers, 3 Wheelers, etc.

Kerosene is a highly refined petroleum distillate having clean and efficient burning qualities.
Product class: B-class product
LSLA is a Low Sulpher Low Aromatics Kerosene, it has a higher smoke point compared to normal SKO helps to reduced carbon emissions /black smoke and increased heat efficiency /warmness of the room. Its lowest sulphur in ppm levels reduces harmful environment SO2 emissions. It contains lower aromatics as compared to normal SKO to make it odourless/least smell and reduces carcinogenic effects, especially army officials who are exposed to this product.
BPCL both refineries at Mumbai and Bina are equipped to produce this unique Kerosene to meet Indian Army requirement.
SBP Solvent consists of volatile fraction derived from petroleum and is composed essentially of paraffinic, naphthenic and aromatic hydrocarbons in varying proportions. It falls under Class A category of petroleum products.

Hexane is used as a Solvent in the extraction of Edible /vegetable oils such as Cottonseed, Groundnut, Mustard, Rapeseed, Sesame, Linseed, Rice Bran, Soybean, Sunflower etc. BPCL’s Food Grade Hexane is also used for manufacture of most delicate perfumes and solvent based adhesives, sealing etc.

Hexane Polymer is used both as a solvent & a carrier in slurry polymerization of LDPE, LLDPE and HDPE formulations.

Hexane Pharma is used both as a solvent & a carrier in the manufacture of API Bulk drugs and Pharma Intermediates. Some of the pharma input material which are unstable as such, is kept in a mixture along with Hexane during transportation /storage before its usage.
BPCL produces High Flash High Speed Diesel at its Mumbai and Kochi Refineries, and at present BPCL is doing Bunkering from the Ports of Mumbai, Kochi, Kakinada & Hazira. HF HSD is generally used for Naval applications and Fishing Vessels. BPCL’s HFHSD has a high gross calorific value and better Cetane Index; helps in reducing the engine knocking & improves combustion process. HFHSD produced in BPCL’s refineries conforms to ISO 8217 : 2017 (DMA) specifications and meets the BIS and MARPOL guidelines
KOLABFS is a feedstock for Linear Alkyl benzene which is an important raw material used in making of Detergents and soaps.
