Integrity Club

If you have integrity, nothing else matters. If you don’t have integrity, nothing else matters. — Alan K. Simpson.

India is a land of values and virtues. It is important that values are imbibed in the minds of young generations, and it is with this objective that BPCL’s Vigilance Department has taken the initiative to establish Integrity Clubs in various schools. The popular phrase “Catch Them Young” is applicable here in identifying children as future assets of the country and cultivating values in them to spread good values in society.

Integrity Clubs are established for children in the age group of 11-16 years. Efforts are made to involve these children in various indoor and outdoor activities which emphasize team spirit, compassion, integrity, preventive vigilance and duties towards the society. The activities are framed keeping in mind the requirements of children of that particular age group. The parents and school teachers play an important role in formulating the activities. The children are encouraged to express their opinions and through outdoor activities, they are involved in spreading the message of compassion, responsiveness and integrity in the society.

The members of the Integrity Club are called “Young Champion of Ethics” and the vision of this club is “Imbibing Values with a Vision to create a Responsible and Corruption Free Society”. These young champions of ethics propagate values in families, neighborhood, school, community and society at large to strengthen value-based culture in the country. This is considered one of the best steps towards preventive vigilance. This is well appreciated by CVC and is mentioned in the draft report on National Anti-Corruption Strategy. Presently, there are eight schools in and around BPCL Kochi Refinery at Cochin and one school in Chembur, Mumbai wherein Integrity Clubs are functioning under the supervision of the Vigilance Department.
