Contribution to Chief Minister’s relief fundBPCL strongly believes in the importance of contribution to the society where it belongs. The finest achievements of the organization are not only those found in the balance sheets but also in the development of communities in small towns and villages spread across India.

Over the years BPCL has undertaken various initiatives to promote development of the socio-economically backward sections of the society in the area of education, water conservation, skill development, women empowerment, generating livelihood opportunities, health, environment, etc

BPCL is already very active in Odisha State, through socio-economical development projects. We along with our NGO partner, Oxfam India, are working on implementation of Right to Education in primary schools and better primary education for tribal children in districts of Mayurbhanj (995 students) and Sundargarh (3458 students). This project has also special emphasis on enrolling girl students and arresting their dropout from schools.

On 12th and 13th October 2013, Phailin, the second strongest tropical cyclone after the 1999 super-cyclone of Odisha, made a landfall in India.  As per reports, around 12 million people were affected. As part of the preparations, 600 buildings were identified as cyclone shelters and people were evacuated from areas near the coast, including Ganjam, Puri, Khurda and Jagatsinghapur districts in Odisha. The cyclone prompted India's biggest evacuation in 23 years with more than 550,000 people moved up from the coastline in Odisha and Andhra Pradesh to safer places.

To continue with your rehabilitation efforts, BPCL, being a socially responsible organization, has happily contributed Rs 50,00,000/- (Rupees Fifty Lakhs) to Chief Minister’s relief fund of Odisha.
