Kolkata LPG Territory goes beyond LPG to Share SMILES

20 Mar 2015 | BPCL Update

It was a tiny seed planted 12 years ago when Distributors of Kolkata LPG Territory came together and started giving a small portion of their Beyond LPG earnings back to society. Beyond LPG is an initiative of providing non fuel products and service to our LPG consumers.

Over the years they kept giving, wherever the needs were, for example donations to war   widows fund, Charitable Institutions etc until a few years ago when they decided to put a long term   perspective into GIVING and  in a very systematic manner   institutionalized a process to help the Thalessemic patients under the banner of “SHARING SMILES” . Every year all the LPG Distributors of Kolkata, Nadia, Howrah ,Hooghly, East and West Mednipur under Kolkata LPG Territory, in the state of  West Bengal come together and organize an event to honor and share a part of their earnings from this Beyond LPG business with Thalessimic   patients.

This year the occasion became even more poignant when the head of the LPG business, Mr. George Paul, Executive Director (LPG) himself was present to give away the Medicine Kits to the patients. These kits were received by prominent NGO’s of Kolkata working in the field of THALESIMIA for decades like THALESIMIA INTERNATIONAL, THALESIMIA GUARDIAN ASSOCIATION to name a few.

Present on this auspicious   occasion were RLM, ER, Mr. P.K .Ramanathan, Territory Manager (LPG), Kolkata Mr. Sudipto Mukherjee, Sales team of Kolkata LPG Territory and the Distributors.

While speaking on the occasion ED lauded the efforts of all the Distributors of Kolkata LPG Territory who have joined hands for such a noble cause which shows the commitment our network has for society. He further said that by taking this step they have only reinforced the Corporate Vision of caring for all.

RLM, LPG  urged Distributors to continue their march on the noble path and TM,LPG ,Kolkata  thanked all present who made the occasion a memorable one and specially thanked the representatives of the NGO’s who spared their valuable time for us.
