Vigilance Awareness Week at Bharat PetroleumThe Vigilance Awareness Week was inaugurated at BPCL Corporate office on Monday, 27th October 2014 by Chief Guest Shri Praveen Dixit, Director General- Anti Corruption Bureau, Maharashtra, by lighting the lamp in the presence of Shri. Manoj Pant, CVO, Shri. S.P. Gathoo, Director(HR),& Shri. P Balasubramanian Director(Finance). This was followed by Shri. P Balasubramanian Director(Finance) &  Shri. Manoj Pant, CVO, administering the Vigilance pledge to the assembled BPCL officials. The theme of the Vigilance Awareness Week this year is “Combating Corruption – Technology as an enabler”

In his inaugural address, Mr. Praveen Dixit spoke on the efforts taken by ACB Maharashtra to rein the ills of corruption and emphasized the use of technology to reach the masses. His presentation was not only informative but well received by the audience present during the occasion

Mr. Manoj Pant in his key note address spoke about the role of Vigilance and the objective of observing Vigilance awareness week as part of preventive vigilance.

On Day 2 , a debating competition for school children from Kendriya Vidyalaya I, II,III  Army & Navy Schools from Colaba was organized on the topic: Can Technology help in fighting corruption? 10 students from class IX – XII participated enthusiastically.

Presentations on Vigilance awareness were conducted at Bharat Petro Resources Limited (A subsidiary of BPCL) BPCL Maker Towers by Mr. AK Chand, of Corporate Vigilance Team.

Similarly presentations were conducted at BPCL, Sewree Complex & Benzene Installation by Mr. Santosh Nivendkar and as part of Swach Bharat Campaign a competition amongst tank lorry crew were conducted and nearly 40 tank lorries participated with full vigor and enthusiasm.    

Day 3 had painting competition for school children from Kendriya Vidyalaya I, II, III Army & Navy Schools from Colaba where  nearly 300 students from class VI-VIII participated.

There was a presentation on “Dealing with Corruption” by Mr. SK Chand at the Corporate office and Rangoli competition for staff was conducted with the theme “Corruption free India”.
