Padmashri P V Sindhu gives up subsidy at the BPCL Give it Up campaign in Hyderabad

Padma Shri P.V.Sindhu the ace international badminton player and member of the Bharat Petroleum Family championed the “GIVEITUP” movement at Hyderabad on 22 July 2015.
 
At a function held at the BPCL petrol pump M/s. Cyberabad Filling Station Hi-Tech City – JNTU Road (Near Flyover) Khanamet, Cyberabad. P.V.Sindhu first gave up subsidy herself and then made an emotional appeal to people to give up their LPG subsidy so that some BPL household could benefit.
 
She said, “People need to come forward and join the movement as only we can make a difference to the lives of all those who do not have LPG connections and cook on polluting fuels like wood, coal, kerosene etc.We have over 130 milion homes using such fuels for cooking and these cause indoor pollution and lead to health problems particularly to women and children who are at home.”
 
Hearing her plea, people came forward and gave up subsidy. Sindhu also felicitated GiveItUp Champions Mr. Luke Livingston & Mr. Kartik Prasad who gave up their subsidies at the same function. She also spoke to the delivery men. Padmashri Sindhu also obliged the people gathered there to click selfies with her truly making the moment memorable for them.
