BPCL Launches Innovative Drone Reforestation Project to Revitalize Nashik's Lands

BPCL, in collaboration with the Forest Department, launched a mega reforestation project utilizing advanced drone technology yesterday. This ambitious initiative aims to plant 200,000 seedballs across 100 hectares of forest belt, restoring degraded lands and promoting a greener environment. Our Mumbai–Manmad multi-product pipeline passes through this area.
Seedball reforestation offers numerous benefits: it enhances soil quality, increases biodiversity, and helps in carbon sequestration, thereby combating climate change. By revitalising 100 hectares of land, we aim to create a thriving ecosystem that supports both wildlife and local communities.
The event was graced by Shri Jalaj Sharma, District Collector, Nashik; Shri Pankaj Garg, DFO, Nashik; Shri Biju Gopinath, Executive Director (Pipelines); Shri Rajan M., GM (CSR); senior officials from BPCL, and the District administration.
