Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited and IONAGE Extend Partnership to Strengthen India's EV Charging Ecosystem

Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), a ‘Maharatna’ and a Fortune Global 500 Company, has announced the extension of its partnership with IONAGE, a prominent eMobility service provider based in Bangalore. This strategic collaboration aims to enhance the accessibility and convenience of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure across India, bolstering the nation's shift towards sustainable mobility.
IONAGE aggregates charging stations from various Charge Point Operators (CPOs), allowing customers to access a vast network of EV chargers through a single platform, and significantly increasing ease of use for EV owners nationwide.
The success of BPCL’s BPC eDrive Initiative, launched in February 2022, has led to the extension of the partnership, which will integrate BPCL’s EV chargers into Ionage’s unified platform.
The agreement was signed Shri S. Kannan, Chief General Manager Marketing (Retail), BPCL, and Shri Vimal Kumar, Chief Executive Officer, IONAGE, in the presence of Shri Pardeep Goyal, Business Head, Retail, BPCL.
India’s transition towards electric mobility is rapidly advancing, driven by government support and increasing consumer demand. The surge in public charging stations is a key enabler of this transformation, helping the country achieve its ambitious EV adoption goals by 2030. This partnership between BPCL and IONAGE reinforces the critical role of industry collaboration in accelerating the deployment of EV infrastructure. IONAGE has rapidly become a leader in the eMobility sector, aiming to integrate over 100,000 EV chargers onto its platform by 2028.
BPCL’s continued collaboration with prominent partners like IONAGE highlights its commitment to make India's EV infrastructure more accessible and driving the country's transition towards electric mobility. By integrating its EV chargers into IONAGE’s platform, BPCL aims to enhance customer convenience and accessibility, supporting India's ambitious EV adoption goals for 2030.
