BPCL signs the MOU to support the Decentralised Zero Emission Pyrolysis Plant

On World Environment Day, we are pleased to announce the signing off the MOU with District Administration, Thiruvallur, to support the Decentralised Zero Emission Pyrolysis Plant in partnership with Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai.
This plant will recycle over 240 tons of plastic waste within first year, which will eliminate CO2 emissions equivalent to charging of 486,000 mobile phones or equivalent to emissions released by an average passenger cars driven over 16,000 kilometres.
The Pyrolysis oil produced at the plant will be used in boiler plant, furnaces and in oil generators to produce electricity.
The MOU was signed in presence of Raman Malik, General Manager Admin Services, Facilities & CSR, Susmit Das, Head HRS, South, Aparna Pandey, Asst. Manager, CSR, from BPCL and Dr. Alby John Verghese, District Collector, Thiruvallur, Rishab C.A, Additional District Collector, & Dr. Indumathi Nambiar, Professor IITM.
