BPCL Takes Strides towards Cleaner Air with Innovative Air Purification Project

We’re proud to announce the successful implementation of air purifier units on 100 BEST buses in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) in collaboration with the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) and M/s APRO Greentech, marking a significant milestone in the journey.
Serving commuters traveling approximately 200 km daily, residents across a 200 km² area stand to benefit from this impactful project. With a robust cleaning capacity of 15,000 m³ of air per hour, the units significantly enhance air quality. Capable of capturing 10 grams of particulate matter during a 100 km journey, even under adverse air quality conditions (AQI levels ranging from 250-300).
Key features of the air purification project include:
- An impressive efficiency rating of 99.97%, ensuring thorough air purification.
- Triple Filtration System comprising HEPA filter, pre-filter, and separation filter, the units effectively capture pollutants.
The commissioning of this project is set to take place at the hands of Chief Guest Hon'ble Shri. Deepak Kesarkar Ji, underlining the commitment of BPCL and its partners to environmental and public health.
