Bharat Petroleum reports its highest ever half yearly profit of Rs. 19,052 Crs, net profit for Q2 23-24 at Rs. 8,501 Crs

BPCL standalone has reported Revenue from Operations of Rs 1,16,594 Crores for the quarter July-September 2023, compared to Rs 1,28,333 Crores in the corresponding quarter
The standalone net profit for the second quarter of FY 23-24 was Rs. 8,501 Crores as compared to the loss of Rs. 304 Crores in Q2 FY22-23
Consolidated net profit for Q2 FY 23-24 was Rs. 8,244 Crores as compared to the loss of Rs. 338 Crores in Q2 FY 22-23.
Major highlights of the financial results are given below –
- Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of a Rs 49,000 Crore Petrochemicals complex at BPCL’s Bina Refinery.
- BPCL standalone has recorded its highest-ever half-yearly net profit of Rs 19,052 Crores, compared to a loss of Rs 6,567 Crores in the corresponding half-year of FY 22-23.
- Rahul Dravid has been appointed as the brand ambassador for the Pure for Sure initiative and MAK lubricants.
- Launched a brand campaign featuring Rahul Dravid titled 'Everyday Relatability Meets Dependability' for MAK Lubricants and unveiled the 'Pure for Sure' TVC: Where Trust Meets Rahul Dravid's Dependability.
- The company’s gross refining margins (GRM) for the period April-September 2023 were $15.42/bbl, compared to $22.30/bbl in the corresponding period before factoring in the impact of Special Additional Excise Duty and Road & Infrastructure Cess, levied from 01 July 2022.
- Standalone EBITDA for Q2 FY 23-24 was Rs 13,679.21 Crores, compared to Rs 1,991.41 Crores in Q2 FY 22-23; the EBITDA margin was 11.73% in Q2 FY 23-24, compared to 1.55% in Q2 FY 22-23.
- The Debt-Equity ratio as of September 30, 2023, was 0.32x, compared to 1.10x as of September 30, 2022.
