Mr Ved Prakash Verma, ITS (1995 batch), has assumed the additional charge of Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL). A distinguished officer of the Indian Telecommunications Service, he brings with him nearly three decades of rich and diverse experience in vigilance, governance, public administration, and regulatory oversight.
An accomplished academic, Mr Verma holds an M. Tech. from IIT Roorkee, a B.Tech. in Electronics from HBTI Kanpur, a PGDBM from IMT Ghaziabad, and an LL.B. from Lucknow University, reflecting a strong blend of technical, managerial, and legal expertise.
Mr Verma is currently serving as the Chief Vigilance Officer of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) and also holds the additional charge of CVO, Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) and CVO, Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited (CPCL). Through these roles, he has made significant contributions towards strengthening vigilance frameworks, promoting ethical governance, and ensuring robust compliance with the guidelines of the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC).
Over the course of his illustrious career, Mr Verma has held several key assignments in the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), and the State Election Commission, Uttar Pradesh. His professional journey is marked by extensive experience in telecom administration, regulatory governance, institutional reforms, and organizational strengthening, with a steadfast commitment to transparency, integrity, and accountability.
Known for his leadership and result-oriented approach, Mr Verma has been instrumental in enhancing vigilance systems, fostering a culture of ethical conduct, and reinforcing preventive vigilance mechanisms. His vast experience and deep understanding of governance processes are expected to further strengthen BPCL’s commitment to excellence, integrity, and good corporate governance.
